Chemical Peels

Guardian Dermatology, P.C.  |  Helena, MT

Rejuvenate & resurface the skin with our Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a skin resurfacing treatment that exfoliates and removes the outer, damaged, upper layers of the skin to reveal the younger and healthier skin underneath. The depth or level of the chemical peel that is recommended to you will depend on your skin’s condition and the aesthetic goals you want to achieve.

Chemical peels can be very effective in improving the appearance of scars from acne and other injuries, in diminishing the visibility of mild to moderate lines and wrinkles, and for decreasing hyperpigmentation (darker skin areas) caused by sun damage, aging, and  hormonal changes.

We offer superficial and medium depth chemical peels. The superficial chemical peel (also known as the light or “lunchtime peel”) is the mildest form of chemical peel, and it exfoliates the damaged cells from the uppermost layer of the skin. In contrast, the medium peel is a more intense treatment that removes the damaged skin cells from the upper and middle layers of the skin. Though the recovery time is longer compared to the superficial peel, the benefits include more dramatically visible results that last for 3 to 9 months.
